How a humble wildflower became one of the most romantic choices in modern wedding design
Daisies are instantly recognisable flowers that can be found anywhere from the deep countryside to city parks and gardens. Most of these daisies are small and will rapidly wily if picked however. Our dried daisies not only have staying power, but are great additions to floral displays as they are much longer than most you’ll see outside!
‘Day’s Eye’
The word Daisy actually comes from the old English ‘Daeges Eage’, meaning Day’s Eye, as wild examples open their petals during the day and close them at night, possibly to preserve their vital pollen for the daylight hours when more insects will be active. This is ture for the specific flower that will spring to mind when you hear the word ‘Daisy’ – the common, mostly white English Daisy that can reach up to 20cm in length.
There are in fact thousands of species within the daisy family, which can be found across the world. We stock a range of these flowers which are dried!
Why dried daisies work so well at weddings
The daisy carries centuries of symbolism — innocence, new beginnings, loyal love — but in dried form, it adds a layer of patience to those meanings. Unlike many dried botanicals that can feel stiff or brittle, dried daisies retain an airiness. Their petals fan out in that familiar starburst, the centres deepen to a honey or amber, and the overall impression is one of gentle abundance rather than melancholy.
They work across a remarkable range of wedding styles: rustic barns and garden parties, yes — but also minimalist city venues, cottagecore celebrations, and even relaxed coastal receptions where you want something that echoes the bleached.
Eight ways to use them on your day
Bridal bouquets
Loosely gathered with dried grasses and preserved eucalyptus for an effortless, tousled look that photographs beautifully in golden hour light.
- Table centrepieces
Arrange in terracotta pots or bud vases at varying heights. Cluster three together on long tables for an intimate, wildflower-meadow feel.
- Place setting posies
A small tied bunch at each setting, tucked inside a folded linen napkin, doubles as a guest gift and a sweet tablescaping detail.
- Ceremony arch
Woven through pampas grass and dried lunaria on a wooden or brass arch, dried daisies create a textural, storybook backdrop.
- Cake florals
Pressed flat on a naked or semi-naked cake they add delicate botanical detail without any moisture risk that fresh flowers carry.
- Hanging installations
Bunched and suspended from ceiling beams or chandeliers, they create a dreamy overhead canopy that transforms a plain venue.
- Buttonholes & corsages
A single dried daisy with a sprig of gypsophila and twine makes for the most charming, unfussy buttonhole imaginable.
- Welcome signage
Frame a calligraphy sign with clusters of dried daisies and herbs for an entrance moment that sets the whole tone of the day.
Practical notes for couples
- Source your dried daisies at least 3–4 weeks ahead to allow time for any replacements.
- Keep arrangements away from direct sunlight before the day to preserve the creamy petal colour.
- Dried flowers are extremely lightweight — florists can create fuller-looking arrangements for less.
- They require no water, making setup the morning before completely stress-free.
- After the wedding, pot your arrangements in a dry corner of the home — they can last years.
- In humid climates or outdoor settings, keep arrangements sheltered; moisture can cause wilting.
A word on sustainability
One of the most quietly radical things about choosing dried flowers for your wedding is the environmental story they tell. No refrigerated transport, no imported blooms flown across continents, no armfuls of stems composted the morning after. Many UK-based dried flower suppliers work with British-grown daisies, and some florists will even create arrangements using daisies foraged from the couple’s own garden or local fields — a detail that gives a wedding a sense of place that no imported bloom can match.
May your wedding day be as beautifully unhurried as a daisy in a summer field — and may the memories last just as long as the flowers.
Our daisies
Our dried daisies include bouquets of 45cm variants that come in white or pink and are perfect for displaying with mixed flowers if you want a variety of colours in your home or alone if you prefer symmetry.

We also stock dried Ammobium daisies of longer stems, which have smaller, more complex heads and curvier stems.
