Valentine’s Day is often synonymous with fleeting gestures—a box of chocolates that disappears in an hour, or fresh red roses that wilt within the week. But love isn’t fleeting; it is enduring, evolving, and timeless.
They say diamonds are forever, but we believe flowers should be too.
At Floral Fields, we believe your Valentine’s gifts should be as lasting as your affection. Whether you are shopping for a partner, a “Galentine,” or treating yourself to a little self-love, preserved roses (often called “Eternal Roses”) offer a sustainable, stylish alternative that keeps the romance alive for years, not just days.

The Meaning: Why “Eternal” Matters
Why choose preserved over fresh? It is a shift in symbolism.
- Unchanging Affection: A fresh rose blooms and fades. A Preserved Rose remains frozen in its most beautiful state. It symbolises a love that does not wither with time or change with the seasons.
- Sustainability is Sexy: In a world of fast consumption, choosing a gift that lasts is a sign of care. It is a slower, kinder way to decorate that reduces waste.
- The “Sanctuary” Vibe: These blooms don’t demand attention. They don’t need water or trimming. They simply exist to bring beauty to your space, allowing you to focus on the moments that matter.
The Collection: Colours & Emotions
At Floral Fields, we have curated a spectrum of shades to match your unique love story. Which colour calls to you?
1. The Classics: Red & Dusky Rose
- Red: The timeless symbol of deep, unshakeable passion. It is the ultimate “I Love You” for the traditional romantic.

- Dusky Rose: For a love that feels vintage and enduring. This muted, antique shade is perfect for the partner who loves an understated, sophisticated aesthetic.

- The Vibe: Cinematic, moody, and intense.
2. The Ethereal Dreamers: White, Champagne & Light Pink
- White: Represents purity, honesty, and new beginnings. Ideal for a fresh relationship or a clean, minimalist home.

- Champagne: A toast to love! This warm, creamy hue symbolises elegance and celebration. It pairs beautifully with neutral decor.

- Light Pink: Soft, poetic, and full of grace. It whispers affection rather than shouting it.

- The Vibe: Soft morning light, linen sheets, and gentle romance.
3. The Joyful Spirits: Yellow & Magenta
- Yellow: The colour of sunshine and friendship. The perfect choice for “Galentine’s Day” or to bring a burst of cheer to a best friend.

- Magenta: Bold, electric, and playful. For the partner with a vibrant personality who isn’t afraid to stand out.

- The Vibe: Energy, laughter, and bright, happy days.
DIY Studio: How to Stem Your Eternal Roses
One of the unique things about our Preserved Rose Heads is that they are often sold as individual blooms (just the head). This gives you total creative freedom! You can place them in a glass terrarium, scatter them on a table, or—if you want that classic bouquet look—you can “stem” them yourself.
Here is our expert guide to Stemming (Sticking) Your Roses for a vase arrangement:
What You Need:
- Preserved Rose Heads
- Floral wire or thin bamboo skewers
- Green floral tape
The Steps:
- The Pierce: Gently locate the base of the rose head (the calyx/green part underneath petals). Carefully insert your wire or skewer into the centre of the base. Push it in about 1-2 cm—just enough to be secure, but not so far that it pokes through the top petals.
- The Wrap: Starting at the very top of the wire (right against the rose base), wrap your green floral tape tightly around the wire and the base of the rose.
- The Spiral: Continue wrapping the tape down the entire length of the wire/stick. This hides the wire and creates a realistic “stem” look.
- The Style: Now your roses are ready to stand tall! Mix them with Preserved Gypsophila (Baby’s Breath) or Preserved Eucalyptus to create a bouquet that looks full and lush. (btw we have a variety of flowers on our website that you can explore)
Care Guide: The Golden Rule
To keep your Eternal Roses looking their best for years:
- Keep it High and Dry: Never water them! Humidity is the enemy.
- Avoid the Sun: Direct harsh rays can fade those soft hues. Place them in a spot with bright, indirect light to keep the colours blushing and beautiful.
